Colonial Village

I want to highlight a community close to my heart. Colonial Village on Chapman Hwy was originally part of the 200-acre farm owned by Samuel A McCall (1856-1934). Most of the homes in Colonial Village were built during the 1940s and 1950s, so there are many ranchers and cottages in the neighborhood. There are also a few traditional two-story or split levels. The neighborhood is four miles south of Downtown Knoxville, across from Lake Forest, and is an easy commute to Downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee campus.

Colonial Village residents enjoy many outdoor charms. For example, the Gary Underwood Greenway walking path, Butterfly Lake, and the Dogwood trails (viewed from March through June) offer beautiful scenery. Residents can also head south on Chapman Highway to Ye Olde Steak House, a true South Knoxville institution with a cozy atmosphere and delicious steaks.

I love living in Colonial Village for many reasons. It is a beautiful part of South Knoxville with larger lots, beautiful natural wildlife, and friendly neighbors. People in this community are from all walks of life, and everyone is neighborly and friendly. Colonial Village is centrally located, and it is easy to access Chapman Highway, downtown Knoxville, and even Alcoa Highway. It is quiet and peaceful, yet minutes from all the city’s action!
